The Man, The Musician and the Individual

Mike Emanuel’s Biography

A devout Christian, Educator, and Mentor, Michael Emanuel is on a mission to uplift, empower, inspire and serve others through his gifts of music, ministry and mentorship. Michael Emanuel has tremendous love for God, family and humanity. He also has a real love for Music which he shares joyfully as an active part of his church music ministry and performances professionally and privately. Born to proud parents who endowed him with the gift of music in the form of a saxophone as a present at the age of 11, he developed real passion for music.

He began his musical journey as a magnet student in middle school at the urging of Mr. Herbert Rhodes, his music teacher and mentor. For several years, under the tutelage of Mr. Lawvawn Rhodes, his nephew, Michael became a gifted saxophonist which earned him a chair as the first solo saxophonist for the Youth Orchestra of Florida. In high school, Michael received notoriety and scholarships for his musical skills, attended private school and graduated from a college dual enrollment program at age 17. Pursuing a career in teaching, he earned a Bachelor Degree in Education with Minors in Music and English, as well as a Master Degree in Education. Multi-talented, an accomplished saxophonist, studio musician and music teacher, he is knowledgeable in all genres of music (jazz, gospel, inspirational, funk, pop, R & B, and classical). As a performer, he is highly influenced by the music of his idol, “Mr. Magic”, Grover Washington Jr. His versatility encompasses the dexterous quickness and likeness of a well-rounded repertoire of saxophone greats from John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Kenny Garrett and Bobby Watson to Gerald Albright and Boney James. Capable of delivering great performances, he has travelled nationally and internationally on musical tours, performed on many venues for political fund raisers, inaugurations, Pastors appreciations, conventions, conferences and private corporate social events. In addition, he is recipient of many awards, proclamations and commendations.
